Vincent Vincent

THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE NAME

THE VINCENT

For the Guglietti family, Vincent (or Vincenzo in Italian), is an important name, both in their Family History, and also in connection of their Faith Community Heritage. Sora (named twin city of Vaughan), Italy, a town south-east of Rome, and north- east of Naples, in the Region of Lazio, is where brothers Giovanni, Carmine and Tony Guglietti were all born. Within this Town of Sora, smaller communities were often identified by the specific Church area it encompassed.

The dedicated Saint, for the Church that the Guglietti Family community belonged to, was Saint Vincent Ferrer (San Vincenzo Ferreri in Italian), who was born in Valencia, Spain, in 1350, is also recognized as the ‘Patron Saint of Builders’…something quite appropriate and appreciated by the Guglietti Family.

This Church Community was not one only Religious based, but as importantly, one that brought people together in these small communities for many social events, for education, sports, festivals and social travel along with their Pilgrimages. Values of getting along with one another, working together, helping each other, both within the community and all you come in contact with, was also valued and rooted within this faith based group. Of the people from the St. Vincent Ferrer area, many were proudly named after their Patron Saint, an important one for Giovanni, Carmine and Tony, was their father Vincenzo. The name Vincent now carrying on with further Guglietti family new generation members as well.

The Guglietti Family, has continued to remain in contact with many of this same community that also immigrated to Canada in the 1950’s, and are involved in the Toronto based Saint Vincent Association, that continues its celebrations and events regularly, for over 50 years now. This important name ‘Vincent’ is central to the story, to the hearts, of the families and their companies behind The Vincent Condos.

This name is a celebration of continued family values, and importantly, a new celebration of ideas and opportunities for tomorrow, for everyone who chooses to call The Vincent Condos home.
